LPL Lands $1B Ameriprise Team As Cetera And Raymond James Add Advisors

LPL Financial has added a Florida-based advisory team from Ameriprise, while Cetera Financial Group and Raymond James also announced new advisor moves tied to Commonwealth, LPL and bank-based investment programs.

The largest move involves Cebert Wealth Advisors, a seven-advisor team serving about $1 billion in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets. Cetera announced two separate advisor updates, while Raymond James added an Indiana advisor to its Financial Institutions Division.

LPL Makes The Largest Move With Cebert Wealth Advisors

LPL Financial announced that Cebert Wealth Advisors has joined its broker-dealer and registered investment adviser platform from Ameriprise.

The team is based in The Villages, Florida, and focuses on retirees, pre-retirees and multigenerational families. The practice serves more than 1,700 clients, many of whom are at or near retirement.

Dale Cebert leads the practice. The advisor team also includes Alec Thomas, Catherine Harris, Tom Romanac, Stephen Peterson, David DeSantis and Mark Dickerson.

The group also moved with 11 client service and operations professionals. That support team gives the practice additional capacity as it shifts to LPL’s platform.

Cebert Wealth Advisors said the move gives the practice more flexibility while expanding the investment resources, research and technology available to clients. The team’s work centers on retirement income, wealth preservation and legacy planning for families in and around one of the country’s largest retirement communities.

Cetera Adds One Advisor From Commonwealth And Welcomes Another Back

Cetera Financial Group announced two advisor moves involving practices with nearly $393 million in combined assets under administration.

Mark Yatros and his Allegiant Wealth Strategies practice joined Cetera’s Summit Financial Networks community. The Michigan-based practice oversees about $176 million in assets under administration.

Yatros spent nearly 10 years affiliated with Commonwealth Financial Network before moving to Cetera. He has 35 years of industry experience and leads a four-person licensed team. His practice works mostly with retired clients and focuses on income planning and long-term financial security.

Cetera also welcomed back Mark Gavrilov and his Brooklyn, New York-based Gavrilov Wealth Management practice. Gavrilov returned less than 30 days after moving to LPL.

Gavrilov Wealth Management oversees about $217 million in assets under administration and serves nearly 1,000 clients. Gavrilov previously worked with LPL from 2012 to 2019, then affiliated with Cetera from 2019 until his brief move earlier this month.

The quick return adds another layer to Cetera’s ongoing recruitment activity, especially as firms continue competing for advisors affected by Commonwealth’s acquisition by LPL.

Raymond James Adds Larry Rolland To First Farmers Investment Group

Raymond James also announced a new advisor addition through its Financial Institutions Division.

Larry Rolland joined First Farmers Investment Group at First Farmers Bank & Trust in Kokomo, Indiana. He was previously affiliated with LPL Financial.

Rolland manages more than $112 million in client assets and brings more than 25 years of financial services experience. Through the move, he will provide investment and wealth management services through Raymond James Financial Services.

The addition expands First Farmers Investment Group’s advisor team. Irene Rolland, branch manager at First Farmers Investment Group, said the move brings the group to a combined 187 years of licensed financial services experience.

Raymond James framed the addition as part of the continued growth of the bank-based investment program. The move also follows other recent activity within its Financial Institutions Division, including another advisor team addition tied to a Kansas City-area bank program.

Platform Support Remains A Key Recruiting Factor

The latest moves show that advisor recruiting remains focused on more than asset totals.

For LPL, Cebert Wealth Advisors adds a large retirement-focused team in a major Florida retirement market. For Cetera, the two announcements show both continued recruitment from the Commonwealth network and the importance of advisor retention. For Raymond James, Rolland’s move supports another bank-affiliated investment program.

The common thread is platform fit. Advisors continue to weigh technology, independence, operational support, client service resources and long-term growth options when deciding where to move.

As more teams evaluate their next platform, firms with strong transition support and clear service models may remain active players in the advisor recruiting market.
