Raymond James And Ameriprise Add Advisor Teams With Nearly $285M In Assets

Raymond James and Ameriprise Financial have each added advisor practices with sizable client asset bases, reflecting continued movement among wealth management teams.

The two announcements involve nearly $285 million in combined client assets. Raymond James expanded through its Financial Institutions Division, while Ameriprise added an established practice to its branch channel through a succession-focused transition.

Advisor Moves At A Glance

The latest advisor additions include two practices with nearly $285 million in combined client assets:

  • Raymond James: Added advisors Nick Weber, Jim Peavey and Kevin Stone from Country Club Trust Company. The team oversees about $145 million in client assets.

  • Ameriprise Financial: Added Strickoff Financial Services from Commonwealth Financial Network. The practice manages nearly $140 million in client assets.

Raymond James Expands FNBO-Linked Wealth Program

Raymond James said advisors Nick Weber, Jim Peavey and Kevin Stone have joined First Investments & Planning at FNBO. The team will deliver investment and wealth management services through Raymond James Financial Services.

The Kansas City-area group serves clients from multiple offices and oversees about $145 million in client assets.

Before joining the FNBO-affiliated program, the advisors worked through Country Club Trust Company. Country Club Trust was part of Country Club Bank, which FNBO acquired last October.

Raymond James framed the move as part of FNBO’s broader integration and growth plans. Grace Austin, senior vice president and North division director of Raymond James’ Financial Institutions Division, said the advisors bring a planning-led service model and a focus on client outcomes.

FNBO also pointed to the move as a way to strengthen its Kansas City presence. Jennifer Benson, vice president of financial advisory services at FNBO, said the addition supports the continued growth of First Investments & Planning and adds a team whose service approach fits the bank’s client-first culture.

The latest advisor addition follows another FNBO-related expansion announced earlier this year. Raymond James previously added an FNBO-affiliated advisor group that managed roughly $420 million in assets.

Ameriprise Adds Strickoff Financial Services

Ameriprise Financial also announced that Strickoff Financial Services has joined its branch channel from Commonwealth Financial Network.

The practice manages nearly $140 million in client assets and is led by Kive Strickoff, CPA, AIF. Strickoff made the move with longtime client service associates Rhonda Sossner and Colleen Barbato.

The team is joining The Atlantic Group, an Ameriprise advisory practice based in Boca Raton, Florida. The Atlantic Group is led by founding partners Andrew Lerner and Logan Shalmi.

The Atlantic Group moved to Ameriprise from Oppenheimer in October 2025. With the addition of Strickoff Financial Services, the group now includes 11 advisors.

Ameriprise said the transition formed part of a long-term succession plan. According to the firm, its field leadership worked with Strickoff through the External Practice Acquisition Program to find a team with similar service standards and values.

Wealth Management Firms Continue To Compete For Advisor Teams

The two moves show how major wealth management firms continue to focus on recruiting experienced advisors, expanding client relationships and supporting succession planning.

For Raymond James, the addition builds on its bank-based wealth management strategy and deepens its work with FNBO. For Ameriprise, Strickoff Financial Services adds another experienced practice to an established advisory group in Florida.

Together, the newly added teams represent close to $285 million in client assets moving across the Raymond James and Ameriprise platforms.
